Set the Stage for Success
A practical doable approach to help your children feel seen, heard and valued.
If you’ve ever found yourself struggling to have productive conversations with your children that end up leading to feelings of drama, frustration and stress, you most certainly are not alone. Parenting children during the ages of 9-15 and beyond can be a challenge, that’s for sure, especially when there is no “users’ manual.” I can assure you that as frustrating as some moments may be, there are steps you can take that will reduce these feelings and move you to be able to better understand, communicate and connect with your children.
So how can you have productive conversations with your children that lead to better understanding, communication and connection?
That’s what this course is all about. By learning the Strategic C.A.L.M. Approach to Communication™ framework, you will be able to set the stage for success when interacting with your children.
This process is a practical, doable approach focused on enhancing areas that you do have control over and showing up for your children in a way that helps them feel seen, heard and valued.
Learn how to create a conversation success framework, that you customize for each child, and focuses on areas that you have control over and will be most impactful.
5 Lessons
Lesson One: BE Strategic
BE Strategic is all about deciding on when and where to hold important conversations; understanding how your child’s developing brain works and plays into how they show up; setting intentions for your ideal outcome; looking at what behaviors you are modeling for your children; and the “regroup, empty and refuel” concept for both parents and children.
Lesson Two: Center
CENTER will guide you to set the stage for success from a personal level by taking a look at how your personal energy management can affect your sensitive and empathic children along with the concept of being mentally prepared to hear something.
Lesson Three: Acceptance
ACCEPTANCE focuses on ways you can productively engage in conversations with your children, even on those topics/situations that you do not agree with and/or have a strong opinion about.
Lesson Four: Listen
LISTEN will guide you to show your child that you are engaged and interested in their thoughts and feelings. You will learn how to delve deeper into prooductive conversations with your children in a way that they will not feel like you are interrograting them and actually have them want to share more.
Lesson Five: Mindful
MINDFUL will help you become aware of your non-verbal communication that may be negatively impacting conversations with your children and how to overcome this; learn how to empower your conversations through “non-reaction,” and gain valuable insight on what children are experiencing in today’s world to better support them.
Over time, you will move away from receiving one-word answers, blank stares and big sighs from your children because they will feel understood, communicated with, and connected by you!
