Students are navigating more than academics.

Students are navigating big emotions, changing relationships, social pressures, difficult decisions, and everyday situations they have never had to manage before. Often, they don’t yet have the awareness or practical tools to recognize what they can do in the moment—or how their choices can affect themselves and others.

OWN IT! + LIFE SKILLS

A Two-Part Student Empowerment Series

OWN IT! Your Voice. Your Actions. Your Influence.™

An interactive program that helps students build self-awareness, recognize how emotions and choices influence their actions, and understand the impact they have on themselves and others. Through interactive discussion and real-life scenarios, students explore how they want to show up—and how to take greater ownership of their voice, their actions, and their influence.

Life Skills: Choosing How YOU Show Up in Life™

An engaging, interactive program that begins by having students reflect on their goals and dreams. Students then explore The Four Agreements, followed by discussion around thoughts and emotions. They also learn a practical communication framework, explore stress-reduction and calming tools, and build greater awareness around decision-making and how their choices can affect themselves and others.

“Her ability to thoughtfully adapt her content and design a program aligned with the specific needs of the students—rather than rely on a generic curriculum—resulted in a workshop that was both relevant and impactful. Students responded enthusiastically, and staff members praised her ability to connect with adolescents and present material in a way that was accessible and thought-provoking.”

What’s Included:

PART 1: OWN IT!
Your Voice. Your Actions. Your Influence.

An engaging, interactive program for middle and high school students that helps build greater self-awareness around emotions, choices, actions, and the influence students have on themselves and others.

Through reflection, practical regulation tools, real-life scenarios, and the Reflect • Reset • Restart™ framework, students practice pausing before reacting, recognizing whether their actions are helpful or hurtful, taking responsibility when needed, and making more intentional choices about how they want to show up.

The program gives students a shared language and practical tools that support greater accountability, healthier interactions, and a more intentional student culture.

OWN IT! can stand alone or serve as a natural first step to Life Skills, building the awareness and ownership students have already begun developing.

PART 2: LIFE SKILLS
Choosing How YOU Show Up in Life

Designed for middle and high school students, this engaging, interactive program begins by having students reflect on their dreams and goals. Students are lead in a discussion of Don Miguel Ruiz’s “The Four Agreements” — a basic foundation for life.

From there, students build greater awareness around thoughts and emotions, learn the Strategic C.A.L.M. Approach to Communication as a practical framework for more effective conversations, explore stress-reduction and calming tools, and examine how their decisions and choices can affect themselves and others.

This session helps students start thinking about what they do and do not have control over, and the importance of BE-ing present and aware of one’s self and in interactions with others.

Life Skills can stand alone as a powerful student program or build on the foundation created in OWN IT!, giving students additional practical tools they can use in everyday life.

“The OWN IT! program helped students become aware of their emotions and learn how to cope using tools like deep breathing, walking away to cool down, or talking with someone they trust. It also taught them how to repair relationships in healthy ways. Its impact can be even greater at home, where families can use the same simple steps to encourage communication, accountability, and emotional growth in everyday situations.”

More Than a One-Time Presentation

With follow-up touchpoints, parent engagement, and supporting resources, the learning can continue beyond the student session. These additional layers help reinforce shared language and practical tools—supporting stronger communication, greater accountability, and a more intentional culture across the school community.

Program Participant Feedback

What Students Are Saying

“I liked how it was more real-life content in the presentation and focused more on you as a person rather than just a student.”

“There was nothing too difficult to do (easy changes to make to your lifestyle that can positively change your mentality)”

“How it focused so much on how to be kind to yourself and think in ways that will help you feel better.”

“Even when I think the joke is funny doesn’t mean that they find it funny.”

“I like how I feel like I have new techniques to reduce stress and manage tricky situations.”

“I liked how understanding you were. You acknowledged that not every method will work for every person. You gave multiple options to find what works for each person.”

“The pause/choose and helpful or hurtful was most helpful.”

“My biggest takeaway was the realization that “doing your best” doesn’t mean pushing yourself to 100 percent every day. It’s going to look different by situations and moment.”

“Learning ways to effectively communicate with others.”
